Meals on Wheels Coordinator
Since March 2024
Hello. My name is Janean Baird. I lived in Central Oregon as a teen from 1985-1989. I ventured back to California on my own at 19 where I raised 3 children, had a long career in a commercial construction office, coached girls basketball and roller skating, and eventually reinvented myself by going to Cosmetology school. I also met the man crazy enough to make me his wife and who helps me achieve my dreams. Like uprooting our entire life and relocating here. We moved to Crooked River Ranch in July 2023 and could not be happier about our decision. While we aren’t ready for retirement, I am absolutely loving my daily role at the Redmond Senior Center as Meals on Wheels Coordinator and being behind the chair a few afternoons a week at a local salon. Both give me the opportunity to be of service to our community. My motto…inspire and be inspired 🌻

My name is Jose Perez. I’m from Cuba. I’ve been in United States for over 20 years. I’m a chef. I really enjoy cooking and spending time with my family. I owned my own business for 6 years but had to close it for Covid. Maybe someday I’ll open again, maybe. Currently I’m the head chef for the Redmond Senior Center where we serve around 150 meals a day to the population in need. I love my work.
I love to practice sports and find new restaurants to try out. I would like to bring more food variety to the central Oregon area.
